- 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
- 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
- 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Did you notice that in Romans 3:23 (above) it says that, "All have sinned"? This means that there is not a single one of us that has not sinned, and so we all have earned the "wages of sin", death. But if we want forgiveness, if we want to be made sinless, if we want to live and not die, all we have to do is ask. Then we must not resist God's love. We must "open the door" to our hearts and allow Jesus to come in. He knows better than we do what needs to be fixed and will come in and repair the damage sin has done to us.
"...the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord".
